Fiordland Lodge

Lodge, Luxury Accommodation, Retreat - Te Anau

On forty acres of land, Fiordland Lodge is set on a superb site with commanding views out across Lake Te Anau; a rural setting with rolling grasslands surrounding the Lodge. Lake Te Anau is a pleasant ten minute walk away and across the lake to the west lie the mountains of Fiordland National Park.

The architecture of Fiordland Lodge reflects the raw beauty of Fiordland National Park. Echoes of the forest are found in the striking natural timber construction; sun dried and hand peeled New Zealand oregon logs feature throughout the building. High ceilings, full trunk pillars and a massive riverstone fireplace provide a warm spacious environment with a sense of solidity and style. A commanding staircase leads from the impressive lounge to an inviting mezzanine, complete with library and fly tying area.

The Lodge's comfortable dining area serves excellent local cuisine coupled with superb wine from the cellar. The fully licensed bar features a solid rimu timber bar top, a relaxing spot to enjoy complimentary pre-dinner drinks and a great gathering place.

In the lounge, a lattice of huge log trusses soar to over thirty-six feet and surround the large open fire, a focus point to relax and reflect on the day's adventures and plan tomorrow's. Browse through the carefully chosen library or access the internet.

Lodge Accommodation

The ten luxury guest rooms - one an executive suite with separate lounge area for private entertaining - look out across Lake Te Anau. Each guest room is furnished with super king size beds and appointed private bathrooms.

The conference room seats thirty and is fitted out with audio and visual equipment. It is ideal for corporate retreats or special interest groups for which evening interpretation is available.

Log Cabins

Complementing the Fiordland Lodge's ten double guest rooms are two traditionally built log cabins, ideal for families, providing dinner, bed and breakfast. The warm interiors feature extensive use of recycled native New Zealand timber.

Both are separate and private from the main lodge. The cabins are on an elevated site with lovely views to the northwest across Lake Te Anau and to the mountains of Fiordland National Park. To the north and east, views are out across rural farm land.

Each cabin is fitted with a quality queen-size bed downstairs, and on a mezzanine floor above one cabin has a twin room, and one has three single beds. These cabins have private bathrooms and are ideal for families.
